Back in Thyme is primarily an antiques shop....specializing in restored pedal cars, and Native American sterling jewelry with a wonderful line of candles thrown in the mix.
We are located in the heart of Historic Old Town Boulder City, amidst wonderful neighboring businesses that include: The Coffee Cup Cafe, Milo's Cellar, Grandma Daisy's Old Fashion Ice Cream and Candy, Antique Depot and Periwinkle Cottage. And that is just some of my favorites on our block, which is the oldest stretch in this, the town that was built to build Hoover Dam!
We have opened over ten years ago, and expanded across the street as Antique Depot and then decided that was too much running back and forth. We then started Antiques in the Park, the largest outdoor antique show in southern Nevada which is held annually on the first weekend in May. Our local chamber puts the show on now, but we continue to participate with a pedal car show across the entire park frontage, facing city hall.
If you would like to see a bit of it, watch some recent footage that aired on the popular show 'American Restoration' on the History Channel. You can google for their website, then look for the episode called 'Cold War Cruisin'. On it, Rick Dale's son, Tyler, and his brother, Ron Dale, come out to Boulder City for the Spring Jamboree to show some of their restoration work with the Antiques in the Park and the Pedal Car Show. They filmed the Pedal Car Show for at least 45 minutes, but only about a minute actually made the cut! Oh well, at least the pedal cars looked great, and I didn't stammer and stutter when talking about them.
Another thing, I referenced we were at the Boulder City Spring Jamboree several times, but they cut out all and except for the Boulder Ctiy baseball cap I was wearing, there is no clue we are even in Boulder City, much less at the Spring Jamboree, and Antiques in the Park! But even though we didn't get identified as such, there were people I haven't seen in years who recognized me and have called or emailed, so that has been fun!
